Ultra PremierKona Village, A Rosewood Resort
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts · Beach bungalow resort · Kahuwai Bay, Kaupulehu
A from-the-ground-up 2023 rebuild of the original 1965 Kona Village, destroyed by the 2011 tsunami, now reopened as an 81-acre enclave of freestanding hales along a secluded bay. The concept is deliberately unplugged: no in-room televisions, low-density room count, and a design language drawn from the original resort's thatched-roof aesthetic. Reopened under Rosewood management rather than its prior independent ownership.
Why we recommend it
The most private and culturally rooted of the coast's three anchor resorts, and the only one built specifically around low density and digital disconnection rather than resort scale.
