The first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the Americas and only the eighth worldwide, opened in February 2025 on a dramatic oceanfront bluff on Peninsula Papagayo. The name derives from an indigenous word for lush garden. It offers 107 ocean-facing rooms and suites plus three treetop tents, with architecture by SB Architects and Gensler drawing on Guanacaste's grand haciendas. Eight dining and beverage venues include the Peruvian signature Puna by chef Diego Muagoz. It earned two Michelin Keys in 2025 and a place on Conde Nast Traveler's 2025 Hot List.
