Beyond Cotton House, Mustique's accommodation is almost entirely a rental pool of 80 or more privately owned villas, ranging from roughly two to ten or more bedrooms, each individually furnished and staffed and bookable directly through The Mustique Company's own reservations team or through specialist agents such as Isle Blue and Exceptional Villas. Owners are a mix of longtime European and American families, and while some houses carry famous names, the pool is genuinely residential rather than a managed hotel-villa product: staffing, decor and availability vary house to house. A structural quirk of the model is that requests made more than twelve months ahead of a stay are only provisionally held and are not confirmed until roughly the twelve-month mark, when owners finalize their own usage plans. Among the villas that pass in and out of the rental pool is Les Jolies Eaux, the six-bedroom, Oliver Messel-designed house built for Princess Margaret and later sold out of royal ownership; its current owner is not publicly confirmed. Mick Jagger owns two houses on the island, including Stargroves, a Japanese-influenced house completed in the 1980s; Bryan Adams and Tommy Hilfiger, whose British colonial-style oceanfront estate is known as Palm Beach, also own homes here today. These three are public knowledge, but whether any specific house is in the rental pool at a given time depends entirely on the owner's own travel plans that season.
